Dunstaffnage Castle is a castle located on the west coast of Scotland, near the town of Oban. The castle is one of the oldest in Scotland and was built in the 13th century.

Dunstaffnage Castle was originally the seat of the kings of Dál Riata, an ancient Celtic realm on Scotland's west coast. Later the castle passed into the hands of Clan MacDougall, who were one of the most powerful clans in Scotland. In the 17th century the castle passed into the hands of Clan Campbell, which at that time was one of the most important and powerful clans in Scotland.

During its history Dunstaffnage Castle was repeatedly besieged and attacked, including during the war for Scottish independence in the 18th century. In the 17th century the castle was greatly expanded and rebuilt to adapt it to new military technologies.

Today Dunstaffnage Castle is open to visitors, who can see the castle's splendid interiors, including original furniture, portraits and manuscripts. The castle is also surrounded by a beautiful garden, which is a popular spot for walks and picnics.

Near the castle is St Andrew's Church, which is one of the oldest churches in Scotland and is connected with the history of Dunstaffnage Castle. The church dates to the 11th century and is a fine example of Romanesque architecture.
